This is a contract position with an on‑site working mode, providing a unique opportunity to contribute to patient care in a vital area of surgery.
As a Locum NP or PA, you will play a crucial role in delivering high‑quality surgical care to patients. You will work closely with a team of healthcare professionals, ensuring that all surgical protocols are followed and that patient safety remains a top priority. This position allows you to enhance your clinical skills while working in a fast‑paced and supportive environment.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive pre‑operative and post‑operative care to patients
- Assist in surgical procedures and ensure proper patient management
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and evaluations
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare team members
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and recovery
- Monitor patient progress and document findings accurately
- Respond to patient inquiries and provide support throughout their surgical journey
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the surgical department
- Active Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant license
- Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a related surgical field preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment
- Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and surgical schedules
- Commitment to patient safety and quality care
Schedule:
24‑hour shifts with night call
Daily Volume: 6-18 patients
Procedures:
Complex cardiothoracic surgery, perioperative and post‑operative care, and advanced surgical techniques
EMR:
Medhost
Full team of support staff
Must be board‑certified
Paid travel & lodging
