Position Details- Full Time, 0.9 FTE
- Night Shift position ($9.50/hour differential)
- The salary range for this job opening at Peace Health is $49.30 – $77.46.
- Sign on bonus and relocation available for eligible candidates
This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.
Essential Functions- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
- Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
- Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
- Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Management of patients with Cardiovascular interventions, post Open Heart surgery, heart failure, Target Temperature management, donation afar cardiac death, brain death, general surgical interventions, hypertensive crisis, cardiac arrest, myocardial infarctions, aortic dissection, and aortic aneurysm. Management of general medical ICU patients such as sepsis, renal failure, shock, respiratory failure, pulmonary hypertension, overdose, gastrointestinal hemorrhage and endocrine dysfunction. Mange equipment such as Intra aortic ballon pumps, CRRTs, Impellas, epicardial transcutaneous and transvenous pacemakers, Swan-Ganz catheters, and internal and external defibrillator.
- Education:
Degree from an accredited School of Nursing Required - Experience:
Minimum of six months critical care/ICU experience in an acute care facility within the last five years required, or (For RN residents) successful completion of an approved critical care training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire. - Preference:
Minimum of one year RN experience in an Intensive Care unit specializing in Cardiac, Surgical and Medical. - Credentials:
State of Oregon nursing license required - Required upon hire:
Basic Life Support - Required within 6 months: ACLS and NIHSS
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months.
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) required within 6 months.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (Required)

- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required)
- Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required)
- Basic computer skills (Required)
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts). - Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
- Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
- Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts and hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
