The role:
NICU RN, 0.8 FTE, Night Shift 8‑hour shifts, 36‑bed Level III NICU.
Springfield, Oregon. Sacred Heart Medical Center ‑bed acute care regional medical center with Level II trauma center.
Benefits- Current wage range: $49.30–$77.46 per hour

Provides professional nursing direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families, and all members of the care delivery team.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
- Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
- Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
- Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Educational requirement:
Accredited School of Nursing degree required;
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. - Experience:
Two years RN experience required in critical care with at least one year of Level III NICU experience within last five years; NICU training program may substitute for this experience;
Prior experience with neonatal ventilation, CPAP, and in‑line pressure monitoring;
Bilingual Spanish preferred. - Credentials:
Oregon Registered Nurse License required;
Basic Life Support Certification required; NRP required within six months; STABLE preferred. - Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of age‑specific growth and development and life stages;
Positive interpersonal relationships;
Ability to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures;
Basic computer skills.
- Patient handling no greater than thirty‑five pounds without assistive equipment (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures;
Push/Pull up to forty‑five pounds; CPR at least twenty minutes using one hundred to one hundred twenty‑five pounds;
Ability to move around area with frequent sitting;
Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling frequently;
Lifting non‑patient up to twenty pounds occasionally and five pounds frequently.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
