Position Details
  • Role:
    Full-time .9

    FTE Day shift Operating Room RN
  • Schedule:

    12‑hour Day shifts, Saturday & Sunday plus 1 additional day each week
  • Unit: 25 state‑of‑art Surgery Suites
  • Features:
    Da Vinci 5 and XI Robots, Smart ORs
  • Surgeries Performed:
    Ortho, neuro, vascular, thoracic, general, plastics, ENT, eyes, GYN, GU, robotics, and open‑heart surgeries
  • Location:

    Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend, Springfield, Oregon – 350‑bed acute care regional medical center with a Level II trauma center

Role & Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs.
  • Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
  • Ensure own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participate in the development of and maintain established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 1‑year operating room circulating experience in an acute care setting.
  • Ability to independently scrub or circulate major cases in a full service operating room preferred.
  • Oregon Registered Nurse License.
  • Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support Certification.
  • BSN and specialty certification preferred.
Skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. (Required)
  • Ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and a patient/family‑centered work environment. (Required)
  • Ability to support and interpret the medical center philosophy, policy and procedures. (Required)
  • Basic computer skills. (Required)
Working Conditions

Lifting and physical demands: patient handling no greater than 35 lbs without assistive equipment; fine motor skills for precise procedures; push/pull up to 45 lbs; occasional CPR; frequent sitting; bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling; lifting non‑patient up to 20 lbs occasionally and 5 lbs frequently.

Environmental conditions:

exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles; tasks in a noisy environment.

Mental/Visual: vision and hearing within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted); ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
