Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Patient Transport
Peace Health is seeking a CNA - Patient Transport for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position ). The salary range for this job opening at Peace Health is $22.35 - $33.16. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

Job Summary

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Patient Transport at Peace Health, you'll play an essential role in supporting patients, families, and clinical staff by providing safe and attentive care during patient movement and transport throughout the facility.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you'll assist with both direct and indirect patient care, use your foundational nursing assistant skills, and help ensure our patients feel supported, respected, and cared for every step of the way. Essential Functions

* Assist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure.

* Perform basic technical skills which may include: CPR; taking and recording vital signs; measuring and recording fluid intake/output; applying dressings; recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions; administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse.

* Assist patient with personal care which may include: bathing; mouth and skin care; grooming and dressing; toileting assistance; eating and hydration.

* Provide patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.

* Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs.

* Documents relevant patient care data

* May provide clerical support to the unit; doing order entry, chart processing, answering telephones, etc.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience

* Minimum of 1 year Preferred: experience in an acute care facility and

* Required:

Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs

Credentials

* Required:

Certified Nurse Assistant - Oregon

* Required:

Upon Hire Basic Life Support

Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend:

* CNAs may be able to work in another nursing unit within Sacred Heart Medical Center Riverbend provided that they have completed the necessary Care Connect training, unit specific competencies and have been deemed competent by a leader of the unit. Including but not limited to the unit manager, assistant nurse manager or clinical nurse educator they are floating to.

SHMC - Access Center

* CNAs Transport patients by schedule and on request utilizing escort or wheeled transport equipment.

* CNAs Transport materials such as supplies, specimens, records, linen, trash, confidential documents and equipment.

Working Conditions

Lifting

* Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).

* Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.

* Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
