RN Fellowship - CVOR

Are you an experienced Operating Room RN with a desire to move into Cardiac Surgery?

Peace Health has a Fellowship position available in the CVOR at Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend in Springfield, Oregon. In this RN role you'll be part of a collaborative team working together to ensure that our cardiac surgery patients receive exceptional care.   • Full-time Day shift RN CVOR Fellowship
  • Work four 10-hour shifts each week,
  • The CVOR RN Fellowship Program is a minimum 6-month training program that includes evidence-based lectures, online learning modules, patient contact and an outstanding preceptorship program
  • 2 CVOR Suites
  • Total of 26 State-of-art Surgery Suites with Da Vinci XI and 5 robots
  • Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend is a 350-bed regional referral hospital with level II trauma center

Qualifications for the CVOR Fellowship :

  • A minimum of 2-years OR circulating experience in a full-service OR at a Level II trauma center
  • Completion of a Periop 101 Program
  • A current Oregon RN license and BLS Certification

RNs who successfully complete the training program must apply for a current CVOR RN job opening and are expected to work in the CVOR for a minimum of 2 years after program completion.

  • A wage range of $50.78 - $79.78. Rate of pay is dependent upon RN experience and terms of the ONA bargaining union agreement.

Position Details:

Provides professional nursing direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.

Essential Functions

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
  • Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
  • Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
  • Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
  • Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required:

    Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred
  • Required:

    Minimum of 2 years circulating experience in a level II Main OR
  • Required:

    Completion of a Periop 101 program
  • Required:

    Oregon Registered Nurse License
  • Required:

    Upon Hire Basic Life Support Certification

Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required)
  • Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (Required)
  • Basic computer skills (Required)
