Position: Nurse Practitioner - Pre-anesthesia Testing Clinic Bonus + Relocate to Springfield, OR

Description

Join our Pre-anesthesia Testing Clinic at Peace Health Medical Center in Springfield, Oregon.

Peace Health at River Bend is adding a Nurse Practitioner to join the Pre-Anesthesia Testing Clinic. River Bend is a Level II Trauma center, the largest hospital between Portland, Oregon and Sacramento, California.

Responsibilities

Anesthesiologists identify risks and ensure safe surgical readiness.

  • Chart Evaluation — Reviews medical histories for patients with key health‑risk indicators to determine optimization status and confirm suitability for upcoming procedures.
  • EKG and Lab Review — Performs onsite interpretation of pre‑procedure EKGs and laboratory results in accordance with established clinical protocols.
  • Diagnostic Study Coordination — Orders additional diagnostic testing when indicated by chart review or medication assessment, including Cardiac Risk Stratification and other pre‑operative evaluations.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration — Works in partnership with the PAT Control Room and surgical teams to ensure timely review of elective procedures, including obtaining prior medical records and facilitating provider‑to‑provider case discussions when needed.
  • Schedule — Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

A highly skilled clinician responsible for pre‑operative risk telephone assessment and patient optimization in tandem with the anesthesiologist within the Anesthesia Clinic. This role integrates advanced clinical judgment, effective interdisciplinary communication, and comprehensive diagnostic evaluation to ensure patients are medically prepared for surgery and that perioperative teams receive timely, accurate readiness assessments.
