Varied/Day Shift - Hours Per Week: 40-hours
Under the guidance of the Director of Nursing Services, the Critical Care Nurse Educator assists in planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, managing and evaluating educational experiences for staff of the Critical Care and Cath Lab Departments. The role requires proficiency in medical, surgical, and cardiovascular intensive care practices, with responsibilities for staff development including acting as a facilitator, educator and resource person.
Educational/LicensingCurrent licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon. Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred. Current BLS and ACLS required. PALS certification preferred.
Qualifications- Three to five years of experience as a nurse in an intensive care setting with current acute care skills.
- Demonstrated competency in teaching.
- Experience in instruction/education required.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles required.
- Evidence of creativity, integrity, initiative and leadership skills.
- Highly effective written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume department.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational programs.
- Cooperative working skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide variety of staff and physicians.
- Experience as a clinical preceptor.
- Ability to provide direct patient care when needed.
