Job Description
Position: Full‑time Day shift OR RN in Main OR (0.9 FTE) – three 12‑hour shifts (0645‑1915); may include alternate weekends.
Unit: 22 state‑of‑the‑art Surgery Suites in Main OR – ortho, neuro, spine, vascular, thoracic, general, plastics, ENT, eye, GYN, GU, and robotics (Da Vinci 5 and XI, Smart ORs).
Hospital: 350‑bed acute care medical center with Level II trauma center.
Benefits and Compensation- A pay range of $50.78 – $79.78 per hour, dependent on RN experience and OSNA union contract.
- Additional compensation: BSN (4%), MSN (5%) and Specialty Nursing Certification ($3.75).

Responsibilities- Provide professional direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
- Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
- Direct and delegate care to other team members based on education, credentials and competence.
- Continuously improve professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participate in development and maintenance of hospital policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, infection prevention, and environmental programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Accredited School of Nursing graduate.
- Minimum one year operating room circulating experience in acute care.
- Oregon Registered Nurse license.
- Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification.
- Preferred ability to independently scrub and circulate major cases in full service OR.
- BSN and specialty certification preferred.
- Knowledge of age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet patient needs.
- Ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment.
- Support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures.
- Basic computer skills.
- Patient handling limited to 35 lbs without assistive equipment.
- Fine motor skills for precise procedures.
- Push / Pull up to 45 lbs force on medical carts.
- Perform hands‑on CPR (20 min) with 100–125 lbs force occasionally.
- Regular sitting and movement in area.
- Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling frequently.
- Lifting non‑patient up to 20 lbs occasionally and 5 lbs frequently.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Must complete tasks in noisy environment.
- Vision and hearing within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
