Job Summary: Provides leadership and serves as resource for staff. Responsible for decision making and problem solving on the unit. Teaches, guides and evaluates the performance of staff, including counseling. Performs established nursing procedures for patients based on the core competencies described in the staff nurse job description.

Educational/Licensing:

• Current licensure as RN, State of Oregon.
• Critical Care experience is required for this position.
• Current BLS, ACLS required.
• Current CCRN preferred.

Qualifications: Effective communication and decision making. Assessment of staff competence and commitment to direct, coach, support and delegate. Coordination of patient needs with staff skills and knowledge. Initiation and participation in problem solving on the unit and throughout the hospital.

Consistency in and commitment to monitoring staff performance and facilitating education and skill development. Completion of extra projects as requested by Manager or Critical Care Educator. Excellence in clinical expertise and skills. Ability and willingness to promote fiscally responsible practices.
