Position Summary
As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at a Walmart local retail store, you will support and oversee repair of Walmart facilities’ refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and various tools. You will work closely with the Refrigeration HVAC equipment team, ensuring equipment is maintained to Walmart’s high standards.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, and power tools.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores, and document repair activities.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by following Walmart’s Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights.
- 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
- Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
- Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR.
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational or Technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a commercial HVAC/R and building controls field (or 4 years experience).
- Completion of a 2‑year HVAC/R program.
- Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
