Technician, General Facilities Maintenance

Position Summary

Walmart is seeking a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join a local and regional team. The role involves executing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, and fixtures under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager.

• Maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and assets using a variety of craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, food equipment) and hand/power tools.
• Use the work order management system to receive and document reactive repair work orders for stores and associates.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required safety and equipment training.

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. and work at heights frequently.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; work in varied temperatures.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean record and ability to pass an MVR.
• Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or a related trade, or 5 years of experience in one of those trades.
• Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program.
• License in the relevant trade issued in the city and/or state where the job is located.
• Intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
