Job Title
Automotive Business Development Representative (BDR)
Job Summary
An Automotive Business Development Representative is responsible for generating, managing, and converting customer leads for a dealership or automotive group. The BDR acts as the first point of contact for prospective customers through phone calls, emails, text messages, online inquiries, and appointment scheduling. The role focuses on increasing showroom traffic, improving customer experience, and supporting vehicle sales goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond promptly to internet, phone, and showroom inquiries
* Contact potential customers to schedule dealership appointments
* Follow up with leads from websites, social media, manufacturer programs, and marketing campaigns
* Maintain accurate customer records in CRM software
* Build rapport with customers and identify vehicle needs
* Coordinate appointments with sales consultants
* Conduct outbound calls for unsold leads, missed appointments, and service-to-sales opportunities
* Meet daily, weekly, and monthly performance targets
* Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process
* Assist with dealership promotions and marketing campaigns
* Follow dealership policies and manufacturer standards
Required Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED required
* Previous automotive, sales, customer service, or call center experience preferred
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Comfortable using CRM systems, email, and phone systems
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
* Professional phone etiquette
* Positive attitude and strong work ethic
* Basic computer proficiency
* Valid driver's license may be required
* Must pass drug and background screenings
