All about the roleThe finishing manager is required to assist the director in all aspects of the finishing department. Main duties include oversight of a large, fast‑paced cavity fabrication, enameling, silkscreen and gluing areas. This position covers production, scheduling, quality and people management, and requires working closely with assembly customers while adhering to lean manufacturing principles.
What you’ll do- Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of safety performance.
- Reduce operational waste, including scrap, rework and downtime.
- Lead departmental continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall performance and execution.
- Improve first‑pass quality of finished components.
- Increase overall productivity within the assigned area.
- Reduce consumption of environmental resources, including water, gas and electricity.
- Partner with supervisors and hourly associates to promote ongoing learning and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with Electrolux Manufacturing Systems standards and ISO 9000/14000 requirements relevant to the role.
- Provide site support for special projects, particularly those involving data management and consolidation.
- Plan and implement engineering changes by ensuring documentation is clear, accurate and compliant.
- Collaborate with Production and Purchasing to halt procurement of materials impacted by engineering changes.
- Keep designated engineering stakeholders informed on the status of engineering change implementation.
- Coordinate effective inventory rotation to minimize scrap and rework of affected components.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience overseeing finishing and tooling operations in a multi‑shift manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within a Six Sigma and/or other structured quality or lean manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success in driving productivity improvements and implementing waste reduction initiatives.
- Proven ability to achieve long‑term business objectives and lead projects that drive organizational change across all levels of a manufacturing facility.
