Purpose of the Job

The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe, inclusive, and productive work environment while meeting production and quality targets. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and team leader with a passion for employee development, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Reports to: Operations Leader

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 4:15 pm – 3:45 am

Span of Control: 25+ employees


* Shift rotation and Friday shifts may be required as business needs demand*

Job Responsibilities Living the Safety Stand and Adhering to Safety Responsibilities
  • Promote and enforce a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Lead safety training and awareness initiatives to reduce workplace hazards.
  • Lead execution of monthly team safety requirements—behavior-based safety observations, near miss reporting, safe work permits, safety meetings, pre‑shift safety inspections, departmental inspections, etc., and build a culture where safety is the number one priority.
  • Participate in the investigation of safety incidents and lead root‑cause analysis to drive permanent resolution.
Achieve Customer Satisfaction and Quality Commitments
  • Understand and communicate customer expectations throughout the Operations Department, ensuring all products meet customer standards and requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate production schedules to meet or exceed delivery commitments.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production activities to meet output, efficiency, and quality targets.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis with operators on all quality issues and resolve them.
  • Train operators on problem‑solving skills and coach through resolution.
  • Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to address variances.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure products meet or exceed standards.
Leading and Developing Talent
  • Engage all teams to collaboratively own business success and contribute to continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
  • Provide candid feedback on expectations and performance to team members on a regular basis and drive appropriate actions for improvement.
  • Identify skill gaps and coordinate ongoing training and cross‑training opportunities.
  • Support career development through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Invest in the growth and development of team members to achieve sustained success.
  • Implement and document corrective action when performance issues occur.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure team members are well trained and up to date on required certifications.
  • Effectively communicate critical plant performance metrics daily to ensure engagement.
Managing Operations
  • Reach mutually beneficial agreements with operating departments on required capacity specifications, measured by OEE or similar metric.
  • Analyze and communicate output data to leadership regularly.
  • Assess situations and act proactively to mitigate potential problems.
  • Ensure consistent product quality by guiding team members to analyze key process variables and maintain critical product and equipment information.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis with key stakeholders to address quality issues and resolve them promptly.
  • Utilize proper resourcing to meet cost targets.
  • Partner with maintenance staff to ensure plant equipment efficiency.
  • Verify time and attendance reports to ensure production needs are met.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity and collaboration.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with team members through regular meetings, feedback sessions, and one‑on‑one check‑ins.
  • Recognize and celebrate team achievements and individual contributions.
