Job DescriptionAs a Plant Machine Maintenance Technician, you will perform maintenance and inspection duties to keep the plant running efficiently and safely.
What You’ll Do- Promote safety – prioritize safety throughout the operation for yourself and others at all times in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards.
- Repair and maintain plant equipment – perform repairs and maintenance throughout the plant including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, water pump service, cutting, grinding, and welding as needed.
- Inspect equipment and structures – conduct daily inspections and maintenance of plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations, maximize production, and minimize interruptions.
- Monitor processes and materials – review aggregate crushing, washing, and screening areas to identify problems and ensure safety and material compliance.
- Document and record information – enter and maintain service and lubrication reports for plant equipment to ensure up‑to‑date preventative maintenance.
- Perform general physical activities – assist with the operation of the plant including cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials.
- Additional responsibilities – perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production.
- Flexibility – able to work overtime and extended hours, outside in all weather conditions, and tolerate loud noise exposure.
- Mechanical skills – some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
