Job Summary

Acute Care Nurse

• The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act and utilizes therapeutic communication to maintain a safe environment.
• Plan individualized patient care with an interdisciplinary approach and participate in performance improvement activities.
• When acting in charge nurse role, make staff assignments based on patient need and skill, serve as a clinical resource, and respond in a timely manner to information requests or follow-up with physicians, staff, or patients.
• You will assess patient care needs, carry out physician orders, administer prescribed medications, change dressings, cleanse wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• You will monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using appropriate documentation systems.
• You will educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team and identify nursing problems to plan care with an interdisciplinary approach.

• Assess plans and evaluate patient care needs and carry out physician orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, cleanse wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a Multidisciplinary Care Planning team.
• Identify nursing problems and plan individualized patient care using an interdisciplinary approach.

• Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing
• Current Licensure with Tennessee Board of Nursing
• Current BLS
• One year of registered nurse experience required
• Acute Care RN experience preferred
