Nursery NICU Nurse PRN

Job Summary & Qualifications

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, uses therapeutic communication, maintains a safe environment, identifies nursing problems, plans individualized care, and coordinates interdisciplinary approaches. In a charge nurse role, responsibilities include day‑to‑day supervision, staff assignments, role modeling, and timely response to physician, staff, and patient needs.

• Assess plans and evaluate patients’ care needs and carry out physician orders.
• Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Instruct and educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care planning team.
• Identify nursing problems related to individual patient needs and plan care using an interdisciplinary approach.

• Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing school.
• Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• At least one year of registered nurse experience required.
• NICU/Nursery experience preferred.
