Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Provides skilled nursing care to medical-surgical patients in a hospital setting, focusing on post-operative and orthopedic care. Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and safety.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood transfusions according to physician orders.
• Monitor patient vital signs and assess clinical conditions regularly.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the Meditech Expanse system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans.
• Maintain strict adherence to hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
• Float between units as needed to support patient care coverage.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with post-op patient care, especially orthopedic cases.
• Hold active BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Be able to work 3 days a week, including every other weekend.
• Skilled in operating hospital equipment such as Pyxis, Welch Allen vital sign machines, and computer on wheels.
• Able to float between MS2 and MS3 units seamlessly.
