Construction Specialist

As a Construction Specialist, you'll gain hands-on experience managing pipeline construction projects from planning through completion, working alongside experienced supervisors, contractors, and cross-functional teams. The Construction Specialist Will:
- Work independently or alongside a Construction Supervisor to support the planning, estimating, design, and execution of natural gas construction projects.
- Assist in overseeing contractors and company personnel throughout all phases of construction, including site mobilization, traffic control, excavation, pipeline installation, welding/fusion, pressure testing, tie-ins, purging, restoration, and project closeout.
- Review field changes, approve contractor invoices, and help ensure safe, reliable expansion and replacement of the natural gas piping system.
- Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with company policies, budgets, contractual obligations, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support the successful delivery of projects by ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, operations personnel, contractors, and other business units to design, plan, construct, and install projects in a cost-effective and compliant manner.
- Shadow Construction Supervisors and gain hands-on exposure to field operations, construction management practices, and real-world project challenges.
- Identify and address unsafe conditions in the field while promoting a strong safety culture among contractors and company personnel.
- Utilize company systems, including WMIS, to maintain project records, analyze data, develop reports, and identify opportunities to reduce risk and cost.
Experience & Skills for Success:
- High school diploma/GED is required.
- 0-2 years of construction-related experience is required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation capable of carrying tools and equipment as needed.
- Experience in underground infrastructure construction, construction management, project management, or as a construction team lead preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to balance competing priorities, collaborate with others, and help drive projects to successful completion.
- Working knowledge of natural gas pipeline construction, operations, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations preferred.
- Basic project management knowledge or experience preferred.
- Ability to interpret plans and blueprints, understand contracts, and work effectively with contractors and business partners preferred.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications used for data management, research, analysis, and reporting.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, peers, contractors, and business partners.
We offer a competitive salary range of $62,900 to $91,850 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
