Instructional Designer, Secret Clearance Required

• Conduct root-cause analysis to identify true training needs
• Identify performance gaps, target audience characteristics, and environmental constraints
• Translate analysis findings into design requirements and instructional strategies
• Create detailed storyboards for video and computer-based training, including scripts, on-screen text, and interactive elements
• Maintain alignment from analysis results through learning objectives, training content, and operational learner readiness
• Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, stakeholders, technical writing, customer support, and engineering teams
• Develop presentations, instructor and participant guides, classroom activities, scenario-based exercises, and other training materials
• Apply scenario-based training and problem-based learning to promote critical thinking and decision-making
• Develop learning analytics and assessment strategies to measure and improve training impact
• Conduct quality assurance reviews, content updates, and continuous improvement based on feedback
• Interview subject matter experts to identify training needs
• Manage multiple concurrent projects using agile or iterative methodologies
• Deliver training and professional development for Sherpa 6 employees and Department of War partners

• Active Secret clearance required
• US Citizenship required
• Master's degree in Instructional Design or related field plus 3+ years in an Instructional Design role, or Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or related field plus 5+ years in an Instructional Design role
• End-to-end creation of instructor-led and/or eLearning materials
• Subject matter expertise in Microsoft Office applications
• Written communication and documentation skills
• Proficiency with courseware authoring tools such as Articulate 360
• Experience conducting task analysis using the SAT method
• Knowledge of adult learning theories including Knowles and Gagné
• Experience with instructional design models ADDIE, SAT, and SAM
• Experience developing interactive multimedia instruction and interactive eLearning solutions
• Strong research, analytical, critical thinking, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear instructional materials
• Experience leading process mapping and documentation initiatives
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Flexibility in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrates expertise in Instructional Design, including the end-to-end creation of training materials and the application of adult learning theories. Proficient in developing interactive eLearning solutions and conducting thorough training needs analysis to enhance learner engagement and effectiveness.
