O&M Network Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring an O&M Network Engineer. Responsibilities may include supporting network engineering and deployment activities, configuring and troubleshooting network devices, performing root cause analysis, developing technical documentation, gathering customer requirements, and supporting network operations and sustainment efforts. This is a direct placement role located in Springfield, Virginia. The O&M Network Engineer is expected to have experience in network engineering, network device configuration, routing and transport technologies, cloud networking, network security, and infrastructure deployment.

Responsibilities for the O&M Network Engineer:

• Assist with designing, configuring, and implementing network systems to support customer requirements and operational objectives.
• Configure network devices, apply patches, perform configuration changes, and troubleshoot issues through root cause analysis.
• Support network infrastructure design, deployment activities, and ongoing network operations and sustainment efforts.
• Develop technical documentation and work directly with customers to capture and document technical requirements.
• Support network technologies including WAN/Internet transport, routing, cloud networking, and network security solutions.

Required Qualifications for the O&M Network Engineer:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience and 5-8 years of experience in network engineering.
• Experience configuring network devices, navigating CLI environments, deploying patches, and performing configuration changes.
• Experience with WAN and routing technologies, including BGP, MPLS, and SD-WAN.
• Expertise with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols and designing networks for efficiency and resiliency.
• Experience with cloud networking technologies, including Express Route, Azure Virtual Networks, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with cloud orchestration and network device management.
• Understanding of Layer 1 technologies, including cable plant and circuits.
• Knowledge of network security concepts and technologies, including STIGs, KGs, traffic management, and secure network transport
• 0% outside the local area (all travel within 50 miles from Site)

Compensation for the O&M Network Engineer:

• Salary range: $130,000 - $180,000 depending on experience
