** Position Summary
** The
** Medical Assistant
** plays a key role in supporting both clinical and front office operations. This position works closely with providers to deliver high-quality care while ensuring efficient patient flow and a positive, welcoming experience for every patient.##
** Key Responsibilities
*** Register patients and collect necessary demographic, insurance, and eligibility information
* Process co-pays and assist with scheduling
* Prepare patients for examination by obtaining medical history and documenting accurately in the medical record
* Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight
* Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, EKG, pregnancy testing) and report results to providers
* Draw blood and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
* Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms; monitor inventory levels
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the medical record system
* Support front desk responsibilities, including phone management and patient communication
* Conduct patient follow-up calls as needed
* Complete opening and closing duties, including cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation
* Perform equipment checks, quality control, and troubleshooting as needed
* Follow all clinical, safety, and organizational policies and procedures
* Perform additional duties as assigned##
** Minimum Qualifications
*** High School Diploma or equivalent (
** required**)
* Minimum of
** 1 year of Medical Assistant experience** (
** required**)
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (
** required at time of hire**)  + Must be obtained through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)##
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Graduate of a Medical Assisting program
* Experience in urgent care, emergency department, or hospital setting
* Prior experience with patient registration or front desk responsibilities## ##
** Certification Requirements
** Candidates with
** less than three (3) years of Medical Assistant experience
** must:
* Hold an approved Medical Assistant certification
** OR
* ** Obtain certification within
** 12 months of hire
** Accepted certifications include:
* CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
* CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or CHP)
* RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT, AAH or ARMA)
* NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
* NRCMA – Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NAHP)## ##

** Candidates may be considered without certification at time of hire if they have:
