The Cloud Infrastructure Architect designs secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructures that support DHS mission needs. This includes developing architecture blueprints, leading the deployment of cloud components such as networking layers, load balancers, firewalls, and API gateways, and ensuring seamless cloud–on‑premises integration. The architect plans and executes cloud migrations, implements strong availability and disaster recovery strategies, builds and enforces cloud security controls (identity management, encryption, data protection), and ensures cloud systems meet DHS compliance requirements.
The role also involves ongoing monitoring of cloud threat trends and applying best practices to safeguard DHS infrastructure and data.
- 10 years or more of experience
- CCIE Service Provider
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Experience with multi‑cloud environments and hybrid cloud solutions
- Experience with serverless architectures and cloud‑native development practices
- Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) and related frameworks
