Are you ready to protect mission-critical systems that support national security? We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting an Intelligence Community customer focused on the integration, operations, and sustainment of enterprise and emerging systems.
This is an opportunity to serve as the security subject matter expert and single point of contact, driving secure architecture, system accreditation, and enterprise cyber resilience across complex environments.
What You’ll Do- Lead multi-disciplined teams in designing and implementing cyber security architectures
- Produce and evaluate cyber security architectural artifacts
- Provide architectural analysis of current systems and future-state capabilities
- Review and influence system requirements based on security posture
- Apply industry best practices and lessons learned to new designs
- Support Engineering Review Boards for architectural compliance
- Resolve implementation issues during integration and testing
- Lead Vulnerability Management and Continuous Monitoring (Con Mon) efforts
- Execute hands‑on Risk Management Framework (RMF) steps 1–6
- Drive Assessment & Authorization (A&A) efforts to achieve Authority to Operate (ATO)
- Deploy and configure security tools and collection services
- Collaborate with leadership, customers, and technical teams to enhance enterprise security
- Deep experience in Security Assessment & Authorization (A&A)
- Strong knowledge of ICD 503, FISMA, NIST, and XACTA
- Expert‑level understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Proficiency with:
- XACTA 360
- ACAS (Vulnerability & STIG scanning, reporting, remediation)
- Tenable Security Center
- Nessus
- Trellix ePO
- HBSS
- Enterprise audit security services
- Familiarity with AWS (S3, EC2, Reserved Instances, etc.)
- Experience creating Systems Engineering documentation (VDDs, diagrams, etc.)
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Rocket Chat
T3 Level
Bachelor’s Degree + 8–12 years of relevant experience
OR
Master’s Degree + 6–10 years of relevant experience
OR
4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
T4 Level
Bachelor’s Degree + 12–15 years of relevant experience
OR
Master’s Degree + 10–13 years of relevant experience
Required Certifications- DoD 8570/8140 IAM III Certification (CISSP, CISM, CISA, etc.)
- Minimum:
CompTIA Security+ or comparable IAT/IAM II/III certification
- CI/CD pipeline management experience
- Dev Ops tools (Git Lab, Fortify, EKS, Kubernetes, Docker, Open Shift)
- Cloud‑based architecture experience
- Engineering Review Boards & Change Management
- Prior experience with ICD 503, FISMA, XACTA, NIST
- A proactive self‑starter with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Able to communicate clearly with technical teams and executive leadership
- Adaptable and quick to learn emerging technologies
- Comfortable leading teams and driving mission‑critical security initiatives
