Akumen, Inc. seeks dynamic, self-motivated individuals with experience as a Project Manager. We are looking for a Project Manager who can work closely with customers and be a liaison with the team. You will be working with a wonderful team of experienced Project Managers and System Engineers. This position will be located in Springfield, VA and requires 2-3 days onsite (subject to change).

This fully funded position supports the Department of State.

Responsibilities

Helps establish IT project plans including project purpose, objectives, technical approach, and schedules
Supports the creation and maintenance of program documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, Test Plans, Reference Guides, Training Guides, etc.
Documents meeting minutes and actions from meetings, adding actions to Jira backlog
Helps lead agile adoption within the team, leading agile ceremonies, helping transition from Waterfall
Prioritizing and grooming backlog, working to manage multiple initiatives
Helps manage project change and configuration processes by managing change requests, reviewing open issues, updating configuration baselines, and communicating essential information to the project team and stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or IT Management (or equivalent related field experience)
Experience in Agile/SCRUM environments
4+ years of experience in the Information Technology field
3+ years of experience in writing technical documents
3+ years of experience in a client-facing role; federal clients preferred
Knowledge of developing, implementing, and monitoring IT programs and project delivery
Proficiency in MS Office Proficiency with MS Office Suite, and Share Point
Positive attitude, willingness to learn and apply new skills and approaches, team player
Strong communication (written and oral), presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills
Able to take initiative, manage own workload, and assume responsibility for tasks
Able to multi-task, handle multiple projects, and meet internal and client deadlines
Ability to exercise sound judgment and innovative thinking

Desired Qualifications

Scrum Master (CSM) certification
Working knowledge of Agile tools such as Jira

Clearance Requirement:

Active Secret or Top-Secret government security clearance or the ability to get an Interim Secret clearance in a short period of time. Offers will be contingent based on Interim Clearance approval
