Description
SAIC is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Now Developer to join our team in support of an enterprise IT environment. The primary focus of this role is on the design, development, implementation, and enhancement of Service Now workflows and capabilities to address complex business and operational needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing custom modules, maintaining platform configurations, integrating Service Now with other enterprise systems, and ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards.
This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders, system administrators, and process owners, to design scalable solutions that improve business processes, enable automation, and enhance operational efficiency. The Service Now Developer will work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment to deliver innovative solutions that align with organizational goals.
All work must be performed on-site in Springfield, VA.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Development: Develop and customize Service Now applications, modules, and workflows to meet business and operational requirements, leveraging modern best practices.
Platform Configuration: Configure Service Now components, including UI policies, business rules, client scripts, workflows, ACLs, and system properties, to enhance platform functionality and usability.
Integration Management: Design and implement integrations between Service Now and other enterprise systems and data sources using APIs, middleware, and scripted solutions.
Custom Applications: Build custom Service Now applications and modules to address unique organizational needs, providing scalable and efficient solutions.
Automation & Optimization: Create and maintain automated workflows, streamline processes, and identify opportunities to improve service delivery through automation.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform diagnostics, issue resolution, and platform upgrades while minimizing service disruptions and ensuring system security.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, workflow diagrams, and operational procedures for Service Now configurations and applications.
Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Work closely with stakeholders, project managers, process owners, and technical teams to translate business requirements into tailored platform solutions.Quality Assurance: Conduct testing and validation of Service Now configurations and custom applications to ensure performance, scalability, and compatibility with organizational standards.
User Support: Provide support and training to end-users and administrators, ensuring optimal use of the Service Now platform and expanding platform adoption.

- Candidates must satisfy Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (CWF)
621 (Software Developer – Intermediate Level) requirements, as outlined by Navy COOL. - Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- Service Now Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
- Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Service Management (CIS-ITSM)
- Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist – IT Operations Management (CIS-ITOM)
- Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist – Customer Service Management (CIS-CSM)
- Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist – Human Resources (CIS-HR)
- Service Now Certified Implementation Specialist – Security Incident Response (CIS-SIR)

This requirement can be met through:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Experience:
- 2-5 years of professional experience managing and supporting enterprise-level Service Now environments.
Technical
Skills:
- Proficiency in Java Script for scripting and customizations within the Service Now platform.
- Experience developing and maintaining Service Now applications using Service Now Studio or Scoped Applications
. - Advanced scripting knowledge, including Server-Side Scripts (Business Rules, Script Includes) and Client-Side Scripts (Client Scripts, UI Policies).
- Expertise in Service Now Glide API for database manipulation, API calls, and integrations.
- Ability to create and manage REST and SOAP APIs within Service Now for third-party integrations.
- Experience in creating and editing Workflows

Clearance Requirement:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Poly

Work Environment and Notes:
- On-Site Work: All work must be conducted on-site in Springfield, VA.
- Program Scope: Supports on-premises enterprise IT environments, including virtualized Windows servers, MS SQL Server databases, and networking layers.
- Subcontractor Role: Responsibilities and compensation vary based on the subcontract agreement, with a competitive salary aligned to market rates and role-specific requirements.
