Position Description
Valiant Solutions is seeking a Top Secret Cleared Network Engineer to join our rapidly growing and innovative cybersecurity team!
As a Network Engineer, you will together as a team to support transport and cybersecurity information technology (IT) services on multiple networks and security domains.
This position is 100% onsite in Springfield, VA.
Required Experience- BA/BS Degree (Additional experience may be considered instead of a degree)
- Typically, between Four (4) and Ten (10) years of related technical experience in Network and Transport technologies, tools, and techniques
- DoD 8140.01 and DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II compliant.
- DoD Architecture Framework and other key DoD network architecture and strategic planning instructions.
- Juniper, switches, routers, firewalls (MX, EX, SRX devices), and Cryptographic devices (KG-175G/X, KG-245A/X.)
- Network analysis tools (HP/Microfocus Network Automation and Network Node Manager, Juniper Secure Analytics, Infoblox, Riverbed.)
- Juniper firewall/VPN equipment (SRX series.)
- Supporting IP services to connect to NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS (IPv4, VPN, IPv6, Multicast, QOS, SDN, SNMP, VOIP, VTC, etc.)
- OSPF, BGP, MPLS, RSVP/LDP L2/3
VPNs, VRFs, IKE/IPSec, GRE tunnels, MTU, FTP, Import/Export policies.
- JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, CISCO CCNP, CCVP, CCNA or CCDP (or equivalent)
- ITIL v3 Foundations
- ISC2 CISSP
- Coordinates system maintenance, monitors and installs multiple WAN/LAN environments encompassing multiple specializations, platforms and technologies.
- Assists with research and implementation of enterprise system-wide network solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives.
- Troubleshoots and resolves network media and components.
- Evaluates and monitors health and performance of the network including hardware and management software.
- Develops and maintains a road map for capabilities, operations, and technologies.
- Assists with development and execution of test plans and supports documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions or revisions for customer approval before implementation.
- Supports network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts to ensure attainment of performance and availability objectives.
- Evaluates and reports on new/emerging network/communication technologies to enhance capacity, performance and reliability of the network.
- Evaluates and recommends changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practices.
- Follows all Customer network security processes and procedures, ensures compliance with all Government policies.
- Represents customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies.
- Performs site surveys to new installations and technology refresh.
- Installs, maintains and troubleshoots satellite communications equipment.
- Develops and maintains network architecture diagrams.
Sitting or standing at a desk for prolonged periods of time and consistent operation of a computer. Frequent communication and exchanging of accurate information via electronic communication, phones, and in person. Occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds.
