Exploitation Specialist​/Data Scientist

BTS Software Solutions is seeking an Exploitation Specialist/Data Scientist to support Department of Defense IC missions in Springfield, VA. The Data Scientist will maintain and implement the data architecture for all Program data, ensuring databases, cloud architectures, and data standards compliance. This role is responsible for maintaining data backend workflows that enable data movement across security domains and systems.

• Assist in creating data pipelines to store and process data related to emergent sensors and platforms, including database tables and schemas, setting up data health alerts, and supporting ETL processes.
• Develop workflows to enable API-based movement of sensor data between platforms as directed by the government.
• Ensure all sensor data complies with government‑directed schemas, formats, and governance requirements.
• Assess metadata, data format, and structure differences for changes to databases, schemas, APIs, and ETL processes when integrating into existing pipelines.
• Pre-process and standardize data to match existing standards or transform it for labeling and model testing, including file format conversion, image tiling, orthorectification, and other standardizations.

• 4+ years of experience with SQL or No
  
  SQL databases and cloud architectures.
• Experience leveraging APIs to query systems and migrate data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both lay and expert audiences.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Experience developing and sustaining operational data pipelines supporting multiple data formats and interfaces.

• Experience with NGA IT enterprise solutions (e.g., NGA CORE, NGA MLOps), Government ATO processes, and NPE certificates.
• Experience implementing processes, standards, and tools using the Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise.
• Experience developing dynamic visualizations to monitor pipeline availability, currency, and volumetrics.

Pay Range: $175,000-$195,000

The BTS pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation. Our approach considers role complexity, candidate education, experience, and required competencies to establish an equitable and competitive package.
