Imagery Scientist - Expert Level (5) (18+ years experience) - NGA Springfield, VA
Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR)
Clearance Level - TS/SCI
CI Poly Required immediately after starting
Required Qualifications- 6+ years of experience as a SAR expert with understanding of collection, phenomenology, image formation process, and exploitation products
- Experience with SARPy and Matlab SAR toolbox
- Experience with RNIIS, information theoretic-based image quality metrics, SAR imagery quality metrics, and sensor metadata (e.g., graze, squint)
- Experience exploiting SAR to determining the occurrence and location of an OOI
- Experience developing, testing, and evaluating new algorithms, processes, methodologies, and products using SAR imagery with tools like Python, MATLAB, Google Earth Engine
- Experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences about the availability and capabilities of SAR
- Deep understanding of the principles of remote sensing and imagery processing and advanced exploitation methods
Experience applying CV and machine learning to SAR imagery
