Network Engineer Senior

Responsibilities

• Strategy & Planning: Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems. Work with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and system goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
• Acquisition & Deployment: Design and define network architecture for new or existing computer systems. Perform complex network development and design work, participate in operating system upgrades, design network enhancements, provide input for documentation, and develop and conduct tests to ensure networks meet documented user requirements.
• Operational Management: Identify, analyze, and resolve network problems. Provide network/equipment and specialized training and technical guidance. Determine network specifications, input/output processes, working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and network engineering principles. Participate in special projects as assigned.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of network engineers and administrators, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Collaborate with senior management and other teams to develop network strategies aligned with organizational goals, delegate troubleshooting efforts, set clear expectations and performance goals, foster knowledge sharing, and act as a point of escalation for technical challenges.

• 5+ years of related Network Engineering experience.
• Must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• BA/BS degree in a relevant field.
• Completed CCNA certification.
• Must meet DOW 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level
  
  II access upon hire.
• Must obtain ITILV4 Foundation within six months of hire.
• Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP).
• Knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware features.
• Knowledge and experience with current Juniper JUNOS software and hardware features.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot multicast, DMVPN, and GRE tunnels.
• Strong team orientation, ability to work efficiently in fast‑paced environments, highly organized with strong prioritization skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, great attention to detail and presentation.
• Results driven, highly efficient, energetic, and highly motivated.

• JNCIA‑JUNOS/JNCIS‑SP certification.
• Knowledge and experience with VoIP/collaboration systems.
• Knowledge and experience with HAIPE‑based encryption devices.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft.
• Knowledge of data center networking, firewalls, and firewall rule sets.
• Understanding of network virtualization and concepts from VMware Data Center Virtualization Fundamentals.
• Knowledge of automation for networks.
• Experience with F5 LTM BIG‑IP (desirable).

• Salary range: $97,750 – $132,250 (based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements).
