Meta Phase is providing mission support services to the United States Marshals Service (USMS) Judicial Security Division (JSD) and is seeking an Intelligence Research Specialist with 7+ years of experience to support a highly dynamic mission that is at the forefront of the justice system. JSD is responsible for the protection of the judicial process by ensuring the safe and secure conduct of judicial proceedings, and protecting federal judges, jurors and other members of the federal judiciary.
As an Intelligence Research Specialist, you will assist USMS management and staff in all office activities and operations. Your role will involve assessing threats, incidents, and inappropriate communications, conducting research and intelligence collection, screening source intelligence, developing actionable intelligence, preparing reports, providing recommendations to mitigate threats, and disseminating warning and threat information to the program agency and other components.
What You Will Be Doing- Review, consolidate, analyze, and evaluate mission‑related intelligence reports and information.
- Assess threats, incidents, and inappropriate communications to USMS protectees or facilities.
- Conduct research and analysis to determine the degree of threat and provide recommendations on how to counter or eliminate the threat.
- Evaluate, discuss, test, and validate intelligence research reports.
- Prepare basic descriptive, current reportorial, and/or speculative intelligence reports.
- Provide subject matter expertise and make recommendations on controversial matters.
- Plan and conduct research projects and brief agency personnel on the purpose and progress of projects.
- Conduct other research and liaison functions with junior intelligence professionals as directed.
- Establish, develop, and/or recommend methodologies, guides, new concepts, policies, and procedures for controversies, problems, or problem situations as needed.
- Prepare and conduct briefings and presentations as required for various audiences.
- Comply with all applicable security and conduct requirements, regulations, and procedures.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (no exceptions).
- 7+ years of experience in intelligence or a similar field, ideally focusing on law enforcement, the intelligence community, or business intelligence.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Superior time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal employees and outside sources.
- Strong attention to detail and exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
- Full time at client site, in‑person near Springfield, VA.
- Travel may be required. Willingness and the ability to travel within the continental United States in connection with USMS duties.
- Must be able to pass USMS clearance requirements.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $110,000 - $130,000.
