Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Lead Data Scientist to support a company focused on delivering advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and mission-driven data solutions to federal law enforcement and intelligence organizations. This position is hybrid (remote with onsite support 1-2 times per week) in Springfield, VA. The Lead Data Scientist will lead the design and implementation of AI/ML, advanced analytics, and data visualization solutions that enable targeting, lead prioritization, and operational decision-making in support of national security missions.
Join a team where your analytics directly support real-world enforcement and intelligence outcomes. Responsibilities for the Lead Data Scientist include:
* Partnering with mission stakeholders to define analytical requirements and deliver actionable insights using advanced analytics, AI/ML, generative AI, and predictive modeling
* Designing and maintaining scalable data models and pipelines that integrate structured and unstructured data from law enforcement systems, OSINT, commercial data, and social media sources
* Developing interactive dashboards and intelligence products using Tableau and/or Power BI to support operational and executive-level decision-making
* Building analytical models for targeting, lead generation, prioritization, entity resolution, link analysis, and pattern-of-life analysis
* Supporting cloud modernization and automation efforts within AWS Gov Cloud environments, including scalable data ingestion and processing workflows
Required Qualifications for the Lead Data Scientist include:
* 6+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, AI/ML, and data visualization supporting production environments
* Strong proficiency with Python, SQL, and relational databases such as Oracle, Postgre
SQL, or MySQL
* Demonstrated experience designing automated data pipelines, analytics workflows, and cloud-based solutions (AWS S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda)
* Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
* Active DHS suitability, DoD Top Secret clearance, or higher Compensation for the Lead Data Scientist include:
* Salary Range: $170,000-$180,000 depending on experience
