At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Database Analyst you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on TS/SCI cleared Database Analyst joining our team to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or Arnold, MO.
Responsibilities- Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems.
- Maintains database integrity and security, configures role-based access control (RBAC), and sets up administrative accounts.
- Sets up administrator and service accounts.
- Maintains documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures.
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Develops and implements testing strategies and documents results.
- Provides advice on performance tuning and training to end‑users.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
- Evaluates open‑source or vendor tools and participates in database migration/special modernization projects.
- Coll aborts with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
- Plans and executes database upgrades, patching, and migrations.
- Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participates in on‑call rotations for after‑hours support.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or training, or work experience.
- 5+ years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.
- PostgreSQL experience required. Oracle database administration a plus.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended.
- Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning, including knowledge and implementation of database high‑availability solutions.
- Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts.
- Experience with database backup, restore, migration, and snapshot technologies/strategies.
- Knowledge of building and maintaining efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data.
- Knowledge of Oracle 19c administration and performance tuning.
- Migration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Candidates must hold a TS/SCI clearance.
On Customer Site – Arnold, MO / St. Louis, MO / Springfield, VA
Salary & BenefitsThe likely salary range for this position is $125,800 - $170,200. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
