Imagery Analyst – Senior

Location: Springfield, VA

Responsibilities include, but not limited:

• Provide services to research the NES, its follow-on, SOM or SOM-like applications that support OBP and related databases, automated message-handling systems, and other appropriate databases for amplifying information, producing standard and formalized imagery analysis products, and collaborating with other IC analysts during collection, research, analysis, and product generation.
• Provide imagery analysis against targets using a variety of platforms, locating, identifying, characterizing, and monitoring strategic operational and tactical facilities; support the creation of GEOINT media and collateral imagery products such as data sets, ground truth, and briefing materials for various geospatial research projects.
• Identify technology gaps in capabilities and processes; support insertion of new imagery-related technology into the operational environment. Use a multi-INT approach to analyze AOIs supporting Counter proliferation, Counter terrorism, Current Operations, Counterintelligence support, Anticipatory Intelligence, and Strategic Intelligence.
• Perform quality control on analytical products, collaborate on leading-edge imagery analysis technologies, and provide expert advice on technical matters related to imagery information.
• Serve as SME Imagery Analysts, producing mission-specific intelligence in summary reports, detailed mission graphics, database remarks, ad-hoc reports, and daily briefings.
• Utilize IC databases at an intermediate to expert level and work with various imagery analysis formats and databases to accomplish the mission. NES and Intelink databases are key components.
• Incorporate the full spectrum of GEOINT, including NTM, manned and unmanned sensors, and civil/commercial sensors; use manual and electronic light tables as required.
• Provide imagery analysis services as datasets and visualization products, typically resulting in 6–9 standard or coordinate intelligence reports per year, including NIBs and GN’s; create at least 20–25 standard, non-coordinated products per year, primarily NES baseline reports or ad-hoc requests for information.
• Publish NES remarks, baseline descriptions, and other imagery exploitation reporting as required by NSG Directive 2-1 Exploitation and Reporting Structure (EARS-2) and SOM-associated data; support GEOINT Program of Analysis or other guiding mechanisms.
• Read, extract, and plot coordinates using multiple maps, chart scales, projections, and datums.
• Provide and create metadata to support structured observations for ODNI’s OBP initiatives.
• Provide imagery analysis services on orders of battle, battle damage assessment, and other core skills as dictated by the government.

• 5–10 years of relevant experience.
• A bachelor's degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to four years of this experience.
• A master's degree in a field related to the support services may count for up to two additional years of this experience.
• Imagery analysis experience in the Intelligence Community at the national level.
• Ability to harness geospatial tools and techniques with available data to provide relevant and insightful intelligence.
• Imagery Training, either “A” or “C” school.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS 9.x and its components; ability to create tailored scripts; working knowledge of ArcIMS and HTML editing; strong data mining and management skills.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS, ArcSDE, Arc View, ArcIMS, Arc Tools, the Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC) system, Socet Set, Terra Explorer/Builder, Remote View, ERDAS IMAGINE, MRSID, VB/VBA (or other object-oriented programming/scripting language), Oracle and related software to analyze geospatial data.
• Expertise in photogrammetry, remote sensing, image processing, or regional expertise is desirable.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and familiarity with electronic publishing and structured authoring software (SGML, HTML, or XML).
• Familiarity with data formats (e.g., DTED, VPF, CIB, ADRG) and imagery/geospatial products and data attribution techniques.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Web publishing, Web hosting technologies, and Geospatial Database generation/maintenance applications;
  Python scripting.
• Strong knowledge of soft copy exploitation functionalities.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

• Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI Polygraph.
