Overview

DevOPs Engineer Senior / Software Engineer – Senior at STEM Solutions, Inc. supports our client’s system software development and sustainment efforts. The selected candidates will implement and operate a life cycle development and sustainment environment for a cloud-based portal capability. The team will work in an unclassified environment and transition the final version to the operational environment.

Program context: STEM Solutions, Inc. is recruiting staff to support a DoD contract to develop and sustain the Department of the Army’s Army Counterintelligence Operations Portal (ACOP). We will coordinate and integrate other capabilities with other Government agencies and companies.

DoD 85701.01-M IAT Level II certification and compliance upon hire.

Required

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• Ten (10) years’ experience developing in Ruby, Python, and Java.
• Experience with Puppet for software installation.
• Ten (10) years’ experience with Sencha and React.
• Experience with SPLUNK, Elastic Search, and Kibana for log files.
• Experience with Jenkins and running as a Jenkins Agent.
• Experience in writing and test frameworks.
• Experience in analysis and collaboration with subject matter experts in planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting.
• Experience in JBoss, Tomcat, static code analysis (including Sonar), and Docker.
• Experience with building, deployment, configuration, and integration of web services in the cloud or virtual environment.

• Ensure that the architecture and design of DoD information systems are functional and secure.
• Build out the CI/CD pipeline and support Dev Ops processes for agile teams, enabling continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
• Operate, maintain, and support production systems/applications; ensure systems are accessible and available.
• Assist with application integration and troubleshooting in a complex cloud infrastructure, managing dependencies on services, platforms, and other applications.
• Develop and adopt Dev Ops process automation to empower development teams for their infrastructure and deployment needs.
• Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD for delivering features, fixes, and system updates across development, integration, and production environments.
• Perform release management development and maintain a continuous testing suite to validate deliverables and ensure quality.
• Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, user interface, online displaying, and content organization.
• Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
• Develop and improve real-time monitoring and metrics for the production environment to enable early issue detection.
• Define Dev Ops best practices and assist application development teams in adopting them.
• Leverage cloud services features such as elastic capacity auto-scaling, elastic load balancing, right-sizing, disaster recovery strategies, and tiered storage.
• Implement security best practices at all levels of the infrastructure.
• Monitor and manage dependencies related to program function, user interface, and content organization as needed.
