* Manage the full lifecycle of software assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, utilization tracking, and decommissioning.
* Maintain an accurate inventory of software licenses and entitlements to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and organizational policies.
* Develop and implement processes to track, manage, and report on software usage and licensing metrics across enterprise environments.
* Coordinate with procurement, IT, and security teams to support audits, license true-ups, and contract renewals.
* Analyze software asset data to identify optimization opportunities, reduce cost, and mitigate compliance risks.
* Use productivity tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to prepare documentation, reports, and executive-level presentations.
* Facilitate and lead meetings with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication of requirements and status updates.
* Maintain documentation related to software acquisition, licensing agreements, support contracts, and compliance reports.
* Assist in the development and enforcement of asset management policies and procedures.
* Stay current on industry best practices, licensing trends, and regulatory compliance requirements affecting software asset management.
Required Qualifications
* 6-8 years of proven knowledge and hands-on experience in software asset management within either the government or private sector.
* Proficiency in office productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related applications.
* Strong understanding of software licensing, compliance, inventory management, and lifecycle tracking.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and procedural information.
* Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Experience leading or facilitating meetings, discussions, or briefings for both small and large groups.
* Ability to collaborate across teams, stakeholders, and departments to support asset tracking and software compliance.
* Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB), or asset tracking systems is a plus.
* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
* Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph eligibility may be required based on contract specifications.
