Senior Systems Administrator

Responsibilities

• Support application O&M activities, including patching, application monitoring, and customer support.
• Perform daily application backups.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, including CPU, memory, disk usage, and response times.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to resource usage.
• Ensure systems and databases meet security standards and comply with relevant regulations.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving system and database issues.
• Coordinate recovery efforts and ensure timely resolution of problems.
• Work with cross‑functional teams and external partners to install and configure server systems.

• BA/BS degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Masters degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Proven experience in system administration, specifically with Linux (RHEL and Ubuntu) and UNIX in classified environments.
• Some Windows server administration experience would be good to have.
• Hands‑on experience with Oracle Database installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing both virtual and physical servers.
• Experience performing system monitoring.
• Experience with backup management.
• Experience implementing performance optimizations.
• Currently valid DoD 8570 certification such as Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar security certification.

Demonstrates expertise in system administration, particularly with Linux and UNIX, while ensuring compliance with security standards. Proficient in application monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization in both virtual and physical server environments.
