Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Program Manager – Springfield, VA
We are looking for a Program Manager to lead a geographically dispersed team supporting a proprietary space program. This role is onsite in Springfield, VA.
Qualifications- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in risk, issue, and opportunity management.
- Ability to provide oversight of technical approaches and manage competing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, program management, engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience leading or managing large or complex teams of managers and or non‑management employees.
- 10+ years of combined space operations experience at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels.
- Experience with Program Management, project management and/or Business Operations.
- 5+ years of experience developing and deploying organizational plans and strategies.
- 5+ years of experience managing projects with cross‑functional stakeholders and teammates.
- Experience in a large, complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
- Experience with schedule management tools and practices.
- Experience with organizational development and change leadership.
- Experience applying systems thinking to enterprise or program‑level challenges.
- Demonstrated experience in supplier management and technical oversight.
- Master’s degree or equivalent advanced education in a related discipline.
- Manage employees and mid‑level managers performing program execution activities.
- Develop and execute integrated organizational plans, policies, and procedures.
- Guide the development of business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives.
- Acquire and allocate resources to support organizational activities.
- Provide technical management oversight of suppliers and external partners.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
- Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
- Develop, coach, motivate, and evaluate employees and mid‑level managers.
- Support execution of program objectives through integrated planning and cross‑functional coordination.
- Apply risk, opportunity, and issue management practices to support program execution.
- Contribute to schedule, performance, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
- Support earned value and project management activities, as required.
Requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). A clearance active in the past 24 months is considered active.
TravelUp to 25% travel may be required.
ShiftThis position is for 1st shift. Additional shift requirements may exist to support program objectives.
