Job Description

Serves as a Deputy Program Manager for one of three regional areas (West, Central, or East) supporting a government client's HSPD-12 credentialing program across 60+ physical locations throughout the United States. Acts as the primary vendor point of contact for the region's Credentialing Specialists and works directly with the Government's regional Area Lead to manage staffing, coverage, travel, and equipment so that every site in the region stays open and operational.

Reports to the Program Manager and coordinates with corporate shared services to promote communication across the team and ensure quality and best practices are met.

Job duties include:
  • Serves as the main vendor POC for the assigned region's Credentialing Specialists and interfaces directly with the Government's regional Area Lead, providing status updates and coordination.
  • Manages regional staffing and site coverage; coordinates the hiring and timely replacement of Credentialing Specialists to keep all assigned sites covered without a break in service.
  • Schedules and monitors specialist travel; supports time-and-attendance tracking and travel-budget monitoring and reporting.
  • Oversees the movement and replacement of government-furnished credentialing equipment across the region.
  • Ensures site personnel complete required USAccess hands-on Registrar and Activator training.
  • Tracks and resolves action items; maintains risk and issue logs and drives issues to resolution before they affect service.
  • Prepares and delivers status reports, meeting agendas and minutes, and program documentation; attends ICAM and BPA meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of the contract.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; four (4) years of relevant work experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • 4–7 years of project/program management, team lead, or operations management experience, ideally supporting federal and/or geographically distributed, multi-site operations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing remote/distributed staff, including staffing and coverage planning and coordinating replacements.
  • Experience with HSPD-12 / PIV credentialing, USAccess, or ICAM – strongly preferred.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification – preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and SharePoint required.
  • Able to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of clients and team members.
  • Able to independently prioritize and manage multiple tasks and lead a regional team.
  • Displays strong organizational, problem‑solving, and leadership skills.
Physical Requirements
  • The role primarily involves sedentary work.
  • Periodic travel within the assigned region may be required.
  • There may be occasional instances of stair climbing.
  • Periodic standing and/or walking for extended durations may be required.
  • Occasional activities such as reaching, squatting, bending, pulling, grasping, holding, and lifting objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers is expected.
  • Effective communication through frequent periods of talking and listening is essential.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree (or four years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree).

Salary

Description:

$45,000-$65,000, depending on experience and applicable wage determination.

Work Location: Remote, within 50 miles of an IRS site in the assigned region; periodic regional travel and on-site presence as requested.
