Provides first aid and nursing monitoring to meet ongoing and emergency needs of participants. Ensures compliance with all State and Federal regulatory guidelines, including Medicaid, Licensure, CARF as well as other funding sources and company policy/procedure.

- Review quality assurance regarding accurate medication transcription, and complete all follow up recordkeeping, in accordance with the state of Virginia Board of Nursing Regulations. 20%
- Administer all prescribed medication/s, in accordance with the state of Virginia Board of Nursing regulations. 20%
- Access health care needs and physician's orders, and develop applicable written nursing procedures and protocols as needed, as a part of the individual support plan. 20%
- Implement nursing procedures and protocols as needed. 20%
- Serve as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team, including new referrals, as assigned. Communicate with physicians, local health centers, family members, authorized representatives, guardians, residential providers, and Support Coordinators in an effort to assure a coordinated system of health care services. Provide in service training and consultation for employees, therapists and caregivers as needed. 20%
- Provide training and consultation for employees and family members as needed.
- Communicate with area physicians, local health centers, and other service providers to assure a coordinated system of medical services.
- Complete all required documentation, including notes for quarterlies, assessments and protocols.
- Promote community awareness of Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Certification(s)
- Required:
Licensed Practical Nurse in Virginia (with active license). - Required:
Current Health Care Provider, BLS/CPR Certified. - Preferred:
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities. - Must pass the State of Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) fingerprinting and criminal background check.
- Must pass the ODD (Orientation to Developmental Disabilities) assessment and competencies.
- Employees who drive individuals in the community or on behalf of the company must possess a current and valid driver's license. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR). Driving requirements vary by site.
- If eligible to drive, must pass the online driving training within 15 days of hire.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical instructions provided in written and oral form.
- Exceptional report writing skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to develop and implement professionally written individualized protocols and supporting documentation.
- Physical ability to support participants with personal care (feeding, toileting, transferring, etc.).
- Ability to relate well to people at all levels of an organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to become familiar with corporate specific programs and software such as ZOOM or Microsoft Teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and able to carry out work with the highest levels of accuracy.
- Demonstrates good judgement and decision-making skills.

Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
