The Regional Veterinary Referral Center (RVRC) in Springfield, Virginia offers 24/7 emergency and critical care. The center serves the Mid‑Atlantic region and provides specialty services in cardiology, emergency/critical care, internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, neurology, radiation oncology, medical oncology, and rehabilitative medicine, supported by an in‑house licensed veterinary physical therapist. Advanced diagnostics are available on‑site, including I‑131 treatment, ultrasound, digital radiography, linear accelerator, CT, and MRI units.

• Signing and retention incentives up to $50,000.

• Conduct comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups.
• Communicate with clients and educate them on care plans.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
• Evaluate and monitor daily hospital protocols from intake to discharge.
• Monitor hospital cases and attend daily rounds when possible to ensure high standards.
• Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

• Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration.
• At least 1 year of experience in emergency practice.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Excellent surgical and dental skills.
• Team‑oriented work style.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care.
• Client communication skills, including rapport building and clear explanation of treatment options.
• Confidence and reassurance in handling stressed, ill, or painful pets.
• Physical ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 50 pounds.

• Demonstrated clinical knowledge in cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, and other essential examinations.
• Problem‑solving ability for high‑quality veterinary hospital management.
• Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff.
• Professionalism and openness to constructive critique.
• Business acumen related to veterinary hospital finances.
• A solid understanding of ethical principles guiding patient care decisions.
• Commitment to continuing education and facilitating learning for others.

$150,000 — $185,000 USD (full‑time equivalent). Compensation for part‑time roles is prorated based on experience and hours/shifts worked.
