Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Occupational Health & Safety
Our client is a trusted utility and energy provider delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable solutions to homes and businesses. The Safety Field Specialist will serve as a field-based safety resource responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, identifying hazards, supporting regulatory compliance, investigating incidents, and providing safety guidance across various operations.
This is a full-time position located in Springfield, VA, paying $25–$30 per hour. This is a contract position supporting field operations, construction, and utility activities.
Responsibilities- Conduct routine field safety observations, audits, inspections, and site evaluations.
- Support pipeline construction, maintenance, service, and emergency response activities through safety oversight.
- Support compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Assist with incident investigations, collecting facts, providing root cause analysis, and ensuring corrective actions.
- Deliver safety training, conduct toolbox talks, and support safety awareness initiatives.
- Perform hazard assessments and support risk mitigation activities.
- Support safety during emergency responses and participate in drills and debriefs.
- Maintain safety records and support safety metrics reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of safety or related operational experience for entry-level; 4–7 years for mid-level candidates.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
- Relevant certifications such as ASP, CSP, OHST, or CHST are preferred.
