Overview
Peraton is seeking a Security Officer to support our customer onsite in Springfield, VA:
Qualifications- High School and 2 years of experience
- Requires an active TS SCI level clearance
- Guards, patrols, and polices industrial premises to protect property and staff against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and other hazards.
- Periodically tours premises; examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure; observes departing staff to guard against thefts of company property; inspects equipment and stores to ascertain if tampering has occurred; reports irregularities; sounds alarm; and permits authorized persons to enter property.
- Examines credentials of persons desiring entrance to restricted areas.
- Responsible for the physical construction and accreditation of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF) areas, maintaining SCIF rosters and applicable access control rosters.
- Monitors CCTV where applicable and has knowledge of secure locks and related systems and alarms.
- Processes badges, schedules conference room use, and trains new personnel on SCIF procedures.
- Information security duties include, but are not limited to, sending, and receiving controlled and classified faxes, creating, and maintaining security education and awareness materials, and documentation control activities.
- Additional duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring all media systems are appropriately marked, controlled, and scanned prior to being introduced to a system.
- Collaborates with management and government representatives to provide timely, appropriate, and efficient security support.
- Conducts and manages SCI personnel, information, physical, and technical security actions, and procedures according to government agency regulations.
- Develops and maintains comprehensive emergency action plans to establish procedures and outline responsibilities of assigned personnel for safeguarding classified information during an emergency.
- Performs and documents annual security self-inspections and represents the company during formal reviews and/or inspections.
