Fire Alarm Suppression Technician
Location:
Springfield, VA.
Schedule:
Monday–Friday. The technician will perform life safety functions related to fire alarm and fire suppression systems, including installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment such as smoke detectors, pull stations, strobes, control panels, and fire suppression components.
- Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm system equipment, including detectors, pull stations, strobes, tamper switches, control panels, UPS batteries, and wiring.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for installation and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve alarms or faults in fire alarm systems.
- Perform installation, inspection, and testing of fire sprinkler systems, including wet and dry systems.
- Maintain and service backflow prev enters, fire pumps, sprinkler heads, water flow and switches.
- Identify and address code compliance and non‑conformance issues.
- Conduct extensive preventative maintenance testing of all devices and respond to system trouble events, possibly requiring flexible hours.
- US Citizen.
- Obtain and maintain a TS security clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in fire alarm/suppression field.
- NICET Level I or II license.
- Read and write proficiency at a level necessary for successful job performance.
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs without assistance.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
- Active, fully adjudicated TS/SCI with polygraph is preferred.
$49.12 per hour.
