AWS Geospatial Software Engineer
The Opportunity:
As an AWS Geospatial Software Engineer, you will resolve problems with a complete end‑to‑end geospatial solution in a fast, agile environment. You will develop software and systems from vision to production‑ready, utilizing expertise in geospatial data processing and spatial algorithms at scale.
- Design, develop, and deploy geospatial applications from concept to operation and maintenance.
- Apply AWS services and cloud‑native architecture patterns to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
- Use containerization, infrastructure as code, and Dev Ops practices to build and manage production environments.
- Collaborate with clients to overcome challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies.
- 5+ years experience in software development with a cloud‑first approach.
- 5+ years of back‑end development (Java, Python, Go, or C++); front‑end development (JavaScript, Type Script, HTML, CSS).
- 3+ years of enterprise application development, including geospatial data processing and spatial algorithm development.
- 3+ years of AWS services experience (ECS/EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, security groups, network security).
- 3+ years with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Terraform, or Cloud Formation).
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, and container orchestration.
- Experience deploying production geospatial applications to operation.
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and security documentation.
- Database administration and optimization (RDS, DynamoDB, MongoDB).
- Serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway).
- Leading technical initiatives in large‑scale environments.
- System design for scalability and reliability.
- Geospatial UI development and AI/ML application UI design.
- Relevant certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer, CISSP or Security+, IAT LevelII+).
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
CompensationThe projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $ (annualized USD).
