Material Handler Clerk

Position Overview

Amentum is looking for a Material Coordinator-MHC Clerk to join our team in Springfield, VA. Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

• Coordinate and expedite the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules and department priorities.
• Inventory and retrieve sanitized property and excess NGA property upon receipt of work orders for pick‑up.
• Inventory excess property upon pick‑up, sign required forms, accept responsibility for accountable items, and remove items from the customer’s work area.
• Compile reports on quantity and type of material on hand.
• Move or transport material from one department to another using hand or industrial trucks, and maintain employee records.
• Verify material against receiving documents, note and report discrepancies or damages.
• Route materials to prescribed storage locations, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials according to prescribed storage methods and SOPs.
• Inspect deliveries at loading docks for misdirected shipments and shipping damage; obtain carrier signatures on waybills documenting any damage and determine appropriate routing upon acceptance.

• Physically able to lift up to 65 pounds per package and maneuver up to 80 pounds, build pallets or boxes for storage or shipping.
• Must withstand rigorous physical demands, including bending, squatting, lifting, and standing for long periods.
• Must be able to operate electric and manual pallet jacks.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
