Education Requirements:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Vocational training, welding certification, or technical education is beneficial.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum of 1 year of MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Experience reading blueprints and following welding procedures required. Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and weld gauges.
Job Duties:
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedures. Set up welding equipment and select proper settings based on material specifications. Perform MIG welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel components. Inspect completed welds to ensure quality standards and specifications are met. Operate grinders, cutting torches, and other fabrication tools. Prepare, finish, and assemble welded parts as needed. Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE. Work with team members and supervisors to meet production goals. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, structural welding, or production environments is preferred. Experience using grinders, saws, cutting equipment, and metal fabrication tools is beneficial. Knowledge of weld inspection, blueprint interpretation, and quality control procedures is considered an asset. Individuals who demonstrate craftsmanship, dependability, and a commitment to continuous improvement are well positioned for success as a welder.
Physical Capabilities:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in welding positions throughout the shift. Ability to lift metal components, materials, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to safely wear welding helmets, gloves, and required personal protective equipment. Ability to safely work around welding equipment, sparks, heat, and fabrication machinery while following established safety procedures.
