Overview
Naph Care is hiring LPNs and LVNs to join our team in Springville, AL, within the St. Clair Correctional Facility. Full‑time and part‑time positions may be available.
As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care for the incarcerated population. Your duties include performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies.
Responsibilities- Perform patient assessments and interview patients about health problems and medication history.
- Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Provide wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas.
- Administer medication, including injections, and monitor reactions.
- Maintain medical records, including entering information into the electronic health record, Tech Care.
- Observe patient health and mental health status.
- Provide emergency first aid.
- Provide patient education and discharge/release planning.
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Actively state‑certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
- Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information, uphold a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
Ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR while maintaining balance and endurance throughout a shift.
