Position: Estimator (Heavy Civil Construction)
Job Role s and Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate quantitative estimates for bidding, accounting, and cost control purposes.
  • Review project documents, plans, specifications, and drawings to determine project scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Superintendents during project transition and startup phases.
  • Manage multiple bid opportunities simultaneously.
  • Analyze labor, equipment, material, and production costs.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates and financial analyses for projects.
  • Utilize estimating and bidding software to evaluate production risks and prepare reports.
  • Solicit, review, and manage vendor and subcontractor quotations.
  • Compile actual project cost data for comparison and analysis.
  • Present estimates and cost analyses to management and stakeholders.
  • Support profitability goals through accurate estimating and budgeting.
  • Assist with identifying and pursuing future project opportunities.
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, accountants, and operations teams.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Certifications
  • Valid driver's license or government-issued identification.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of estimating or related construction experience.
  • Experience in construction estimating, preferably within heavy civil, wet utilities, drilling, or concrete projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with estimating and bidding software preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience managing large-scale construction projects and budgets.
